Postdoctoral Opening in Ultrafast fMRI Neuroscience
Research
scientist/post doctoral positions available immediately at UC Berkeley,
in the area of ultrafast functional imaging applied to neuroscience.
The work will be to develop new neuroscience paradigms and data analysis
utilizing new high temporal resolution imaging pulse sequences (down to
100ms TR for whole brain, see: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ pubmed/21187930).
Candidates are sought with a strong
background in cognitive neuroscience, vision science, or
cognitive/computer modeling. Highly desirable is experience in MRI
physics, pulse sequences and programming skills (C++, Matlab).
The majority of work will be conducted
at the 3T Siemens scanner with 32-channel receiver system at UC
Berkeley. Opportunities to work on the 7 T and 10.5T at University of
Minnesota will also be available. The work is funded by the NIH NINDS to
optimize simultaneous slice imaging (multi-band, multiplexed EPI) for
fMRI and diffusion HARDI imaging. The position is for one year with
possibility of extension.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Ph.D. in neuroscience, vision science, psychology, computer science or related field
• Strong background fMRI experimental design and analysis
• A record of publication and/or conference proceedings
• Computer programming (C++, Matlab, Python)
Desired experience:
• fMRI processing software (SPM, FSL, Freesurfer, Caret)
• Stimulus delivery software (E-prime, Psychtoolbox)
• Pulse sequence and MR physics experience
• Diffusion, ASL and/or flow imaging
• Multiple OS environments (Windows, Mac, Linux)
• As a subject in task fMRI (awake and still)
